Box Shot 3D allows to render software boxes, ebook covers, CD and DVD boxes, brochures, magazines and much more. Powered by raytracing engine Box Shot 3D creates photorealistic images just in a few mouse clicks.

What's new in this version:

  • New object "Opened book on the floor": nine new shapes
  • Square corners in spiral-bounded book
  • Two new shapes for soft cover book and two new soft cover stacks
  • Vertical brochures have up to 4 folds
  • CD from "CD in Envelope" now has "CD on the floor" option
  • Images can be laid down to the floor and can fly above it
  • Reflection can be blurred

Box Shot 3D ReviewGood stuff - Version: 2.9.2, 7/28/2008 08:36AM PST

Very good & simple software and as far as I know the only box shot software for Mac. Some comments:
1) I couldn't find a list of supported image file formats. PNG works but some others not.
2) None of the input elements show units, I guess most of them are using pixels.
3) The rendering speed is very poor. It's a pity they don't seem to make use of the extensive hardware-accelerated libraries in Mac OS X. Running the software through Shark might help too.
