Calories ReviewLooks good, but not yet mature enough - Version: 1.1.2, 8/18/2008 02:45AM PST

Digital Fury--2008
For sure this is the most Mac-like diet/nutritional application out there, the others are more mature and feature-full, but also ugly ports and/or Java-based, but it's missing key features (e.g. body weight tracking, less simplistic reporting) and just feels unfinished...it's pretty much a work in progress not yet ready for primetime.

Calories ReviewThe Right Stuff - Version: 1.1.1, 7/29/2008 01:27AM PST

it young
This is an excellent program that does what it should and more. The database is very large. The interface is excellent. (You can copy your breakfast from one day to the next.) The nutrition information is encyclopedic. The daily, weekly, monthly summaries are great.

What is needed? A help file (what is NFS anyway?), perhaps a few preferences, but for now that is it. Oh yes, I will also need a little discipline.

Calories Reviewpromising start, but missing important features - Version: 1.0.1, 7/11/2008 09:22PM PST

This is the first version and it should be a good one when it matures a bit with future releases. I was unable to add my own foods and the data base has not contained any of the items I regularly use. I purchase my food from a health food oriented market and they have many brands that are not national or large company brands and are not included in the data base. In it's present configuration, it is not usable for me, but as I said, once version 1.1 comes out which promises to add this important feature, I will probably purchase it. Also, the nutritional data included is very complete, however, I find that it is too much information and I would like to edit the list to show just the information I need. I don't worry too much about Beta Cryptoxanthin for example so it might be nice to delete this from my personal use.

It might also me nice to add a graph that shows weight gains or loss since this is a program likely to be used by dieters. The basic layout and UI is clean and intuitive, but just short of being usable in it's present state.

I hope the author puts out the editor soon, I am anxious to revisit this program when it becomes function enough for me to use.

I am unable to recommend it in it's present configuration, but when 1.1 comes out, I may change that opinion.

Also, I know the program is new and there are not many features, but the help was non existent and there needs to be some information even if basic.
