I discovered the original FLVR App when I was searching for an application to convert some flash files that I wanted to add to a DVD project. I had literally tried dozens of applications and nothing would convert these particular files to the format I needed.
I was actually shocked when my first conversion attempt with FLVR downloaded the flash files from Youtube & converted them to quicktime files flawlessly. It did this in the background without the issues that I had encountered with every other converter.
Videobox is the latest incarnation of this amazing application. Like the original App, It still has a safari plugin that allows you to download, rename & convert right within the browser. But, it is also a stand alone converter with URL drag & drop functionality making it is the easiest & most reliable application for grabbing & converting web based video on the fly regardless of your browser. And because it is a stand alone application, you can also convert media that is not web based...e.g. a clip a friend sends you as an e-mail attachment.
The preferences allow you to customize quality of your output & supports mov, mpeg, mp4, raw, avi, wmv, and flv formats. There is also an automatic import into itunes function, which makes grabbing video from sites like youtube to watch later on your ipod seamless. You can grab, convert & add with a push of the button.
Videobox is a fast, flawless & customizable video converter that works every time. It not only converts media into the format you want, but does so with little or no loss of quality.
Download the Demo, give it a try and you will see that it is "Must Have" application for anyone who works with video or collects web based content.
