As soon as Apple issues a security update we always install immediately, usually with no problems. This time it made our computer practically useless, the issues were as described in the other comments noted in this forum. After restarting a few times, trying to fix preferences (did not work), I called Apple. They had me reset the PRAM, which did not help. Finally Apple told me to reinstall the OS. This was my incentive to update to 10.5.
So please do not install this update until something is published about how to fix the problem or a new update is issued by Apple. BTW, the Apple rep told me I was the first to report this problem.
Good Luck & Happy Holidays

This update has totally borked out my mouse, which is now jumping all over the place, not responding to clicks, and randomly highlighting stuff. File switching is slow too, if it works at all.
I rebooted in Safe Mode, which unf didn't seem to do anything. I'm trying to check the permissions right now in Disk Utility, but due to a lack of file switching capability noted above, I can't get in!
I'm using a MacBook Pro btw if that helps. 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo with 1.5Gb memory.
Advice, suggestions, help appreciated!

MacBook is not functioning anywhere close to normal.
Apps are hanging up or quiting altogether.
Each time I click the mouse the Dock goes away for around 2 seconds and then comes back.
Very, very sluggish on all tasks.
At least with my PC, if something goes wrong with an update I can fix it.
I have not fix for this as of now.
