CrystalBall Lite Reviewwell recommended - Version: 1.0, 1/27/2006 06:37AM PST

Was in on the testing for this one and honestly it took very little testing. When registered you can add buttons for all those pesky multi Die rolls for your Rogue or wizard and probably others I just haven't played. With a little planning on your layout you could even setup buttons for multiple classes common rolls. With up to 10 rows of custom buttons your dice will get jealous though.

The ability to nest notes is really nice for tracking . . . well anything that needs tracking. It's literally like a notebook. You don't have to worry about running out of pages for each section though.

You can even edit the text for the 'magic 8ball' part, just look for it. Kinda fun to play with all by itself.

Just give it a look.

What an excellent little app !
CBLite is the cross platform 'lite" version of Crystabl Ball, the premium RPG tool for D&D on the Mac ( and very soon on Windows too).
The program is limited in its functionality, that is unlike its big brother it only conatins a Dice Roller and a Notes organizer. But these alone will make the life easier of any GM ! Or player for that matter.
The Dice roller cover your basic functionality. D6 through D100. But what makes CBLite stand out is that you can program an unlimited ( once its registered ) number of buttons to do more than just one dice ! So you can have it roll 3d6 in one go, or 3d6 +2d10 - d15 ( yes thats right a d15, with the programable buttons your dice can have any number of sides you want ). You can then go a set further and add sets and drops. So you can ask it to roll 4 sets of 3d6 and drop the lowest set !
You can also name the buttons as you make them. So you can have your Great Sword, with Power strike button programmed in and roll it with mods, by one click of the button.
The Notes section is fantastic. It allows for easy grouping of topics together in a colapable tree, as well as an excellent editor fo rteh "body" of the notes. The inbuilt search funtion, also makes life very easy !

Can't wait for the next version of the full program Crystalball !
