Product Description:

The CutX extension offers new ways to help you block unwanted websites from display in your Safari web browser. If a website has been blocked, the user is informed by a message and the page is not loaded. Part of the reason that CutX is the best parental control filter for Safari is that it is so easy for parents to install and manage. Let's face it - these days, most kids know a lot more about computers and the Internet than their parents. That is why we designed an application that is so effective and, above all, easy to use. CutX is easy to install - it does so automatically and in just a few minutes. Not to mention that its easy to use interface makes configuring it a snap! With CutX, you can protect yourself and your children from pornographic websites. CutX gives you all the tools you need to block them. Even when you aren't around, you can rest assured that adult sites and those with sexually explicit content are blocked. With CutX, you can also ensure productive activity in the workplace. CutX helps you make sure employees are on task and not distracted by casual web surfing or excessive personal business. With CutX, you will keep your employees focused on the job, not on internet distractions. CutX also provides you with a way to protect employees from the threats associated with unregulated Internet access. As the administrator, you will have the password that allows you to easily customize the level of Internet filtering for each user in your home or workplace. You can have full, un-filtered access to the Internet while making sure that your children or employees are fully protected

CutX Content Filter CommentaryPassword does not provide security - Version: 3.1, 3/19/2007 11:48AM PST

There is an easy way around the password security on this program that renders is pointless for parents or others hoping to limit access to the Internet.
When the password option is utilitized, the password is visible in the program's preference file. A simple search for the CutX program files on the hard drive reveals the preference file and right there is the password.
I brought this fault in the program to the company's attention and was told no one would look for the password. Clearly they don't have kids or bored employees.
If you are looking for a secure Internet program go elsewhere until the company acknowledges this problem and patches the hole.

CutX Content Filter ReviewBLOCKED THIS PAGE!! - Version: 3.0.2, 11/18/2006 11:22PM PST

I have used CutX for a week and hoped it would be good enough for my son's computer but I found it started blocking legitimate pages, and today it even blocked this VersionTracker page! SO I guess CutX goes to the Trash until it is developed further. I sincerely hope they can get it working accurately and consistently.

Does what it says but significantly slows down the page loading time. I will have it on my childrens accounts but not mine.
