Product Description:

InterMapper RemoteAccess provides a remote view on your network. It allows you to create and edit maps in conjunction with InterMapper, configure the InterMapper server, and allow you to see the real-time status of your routers, switches, servers, and other networking equipment from a remote location.

InterMapper Remote is a cross platform tool. It runs on Mac OS X, Windows NT/2000/XP, and various versions of Unix and Linux.

What's new in this version:

  • Windows installer now enforces Java 1.5 requirement.
  • Added an assertion to glean more information about an AIOOBE thrown in the Tree sorter (
  • Notification list did not repaint after changing a notifier's name using the Edit button (66063) The totals in the map toolbar filter buttons could be incorrect when the notifier view had been used.
  • On recent versions of Java, status windows would resize each time the window was updated even after the user manually set their size (66097).
  • An NPE was thrown when performing a search in a Find window that was opened from a log window that is no longer open (66128).
  • Fixed an IllegalArgumentException when showing the Icon picker (66326).
  • Noop 'Flows Window' item appeared in interface contextual menu.

You could do what you suggest, but you'd run into the security and authentication problems listed at: http://www.dartware.com/imremote/faq/general.html And if you run the daemon version, there's no GUI to forward to the X server. Gkrellm and xforwarding over ssh, it can monitor more than just your network and its free.

idea the software is still limited and Very buggy. I'd include it for free in the unlimited version of Intermapper. I give it three stars for the great idea (although Intermapper has done this since the beginning, giving remote access to the application in one way or another) and wish this was a loadable Java Applet existing in Intermapper's web server (included in the software's server) instead of a separate option. Would make more sense to me.
